About Us

Brief Background

The Integrated Development Foundation (IDF) was created in 1994 to promote the sustainable and integrated development of disadvantaged urban and rural populations in the North-West region of Cameroon. In 2024, IDF celebrates its 30th anniversary. For three decades, IDF has supported vulnerable people, local development and entrepreneurship.

Since 2016, the socio-economic and political crisis in the region has strongly impacted IDF’s activities, leading to school dropouts, orphans, and economic and infrastructure degradation. New humanitarian actors have emerged, and many residents have fled to other regions of Cameroon or Nigeria. Despite a recent lull and the State’s efforts to restore peace, challenges remain.

Today, IDF enjoys a solid reputation and a large portfolio of projects. However, to continue its mission of reducing inequalities, the Foundation must renovate and adapt. Challenges include strengthening its team, expanding its activities, developing new partnerships, diversifying its activities, internal reorganization, increasing donations, and improving its marketing and communication. Investment in these areas is essential to enable IDF to meet these new challenges and continue to work for the well-being of populations.

MAIN OBJECTIVES

To contribute to the creation of conditions that can permit marginalized and vulnerable populations and persons With Disability to regain their dignity and to ameliorate their living conditions.

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES

Promotion of solidarity in the defense of the rights and in the economy of the marginalized male and female population.
Implementation of activities that can contribute to the amelioration of the sanitary, social, economic and environmental wellbeing of the target populations.
Promotions of the civil society organizations in the management of public policy

To contribute to the reduction of inequalities and marginalization among the male and female population and Persons With Disabilities in the NORTH West Region.

To empower male and female population and Person With Disability of the North West Region to be able to take part actively and democratically in the development of their community , socially and economically with guiding principles of team work , quality , inclusion, diversity, equity and social justice.
